Description:
Since
1914, Pathfinder has offered boys the finest wilderness camp experience.
Located on Pathfinder Island, Source
Lake, in world-famous Algonquin Park, Ontario.
At
Pathfinder, we live in a close community of friendship and adventure. Our
campers discover the rewards of being in a spectacular natural setting without
technology’s distractions. They thrive on the Pathfinder traditions of teamwork
and leadership.
An
expert, highly trained Staff of 70 counselors provide the crucial 1:2 ratio
that ensures individual attention for every boy. Many of our Staff are
developed from our own camper ranks. Chosen for their skills and personality,
they guide and encourage the next generation.
Boys
come from 15 states, 7 foreign countries. Only 110 boys are accommodated, ages
7-15. A special 2-week program is conducted four times each summer for
young, first-time boys ages 7-10. Normal sessions are 3 1/2-weeks and 7-weeks
for all ages.
Trippers
in Pathfinder’s trademark red canoes cruise throughout the 3,000 square miles
of Algonquin. Older boys venture down wild rivers across Ontario
and Quebec.
Trips range from 2-days to 25-days, including Temagami, Kipawa, Lake Superior,
Western Ontario and rivers to James Bay.
Core
in-camp programs include Red Cross Swimming, Ecology, Ropes-Challenge/Climbing,
Canoeing, Kayaking, Trail biking, Archery, Arts, and Athletics.
Accredited
by the Ontario
Camping Association.
