Camp Descriptions;
Science Madness; The Next Generation
Science Madness has been a popular camp for us so we decided we needed another round, a second option, a ‘take-two’, more madness, a NEXT GENERATION. So here it is. While you certainly don’t have to go to the other Science Madness to come to this one, the spirit of the camp is the same; wild, crazy, cool science. Stunt Planes, Life in the Sea {use a Cartesian diver and see preserved sea horses, starfish and squid up close}, Movie FX, Energy Burst {with rattlesnake eggs?} Chemical Reactions {blow up balloons and put out candles with chemicals, then pop the top off the super popper stopper}, and the Glow Show {black lights and germ powder make for cool science} are all parts of this awesome week—and MORE. It’s still a Mad-Mad-Mad-Mad world, and it’s FUN to the max.
Science Madness
Are you a MAD SCIENTIST in the making? Move over Dexter and Jimmy Neutron, here we come! These are Mad Science’s coolest bits and pieces! We’re revvin’ up the lab to bring you our most fun experiments. WARNING…. This is so much fun you might forget you’re learning. Ever wonder why Jimmy and Dexter have such big heads? They are full of cool science; Bubbling Potions, Dinosaur Digs, Pet Clouds, Slime, Voice Modulators, 3D floating pig illusions, Cotton Candy, make your own Soda and more! It’s a mad-mad-mad-mad world!
NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers
From our Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on program sends campers on a quest for exploration! Comets, planets, stars and more are all waiting to be discovered. Learn about the four forces of flight, the challenges of space travel, and participate in a rocket launch! NASA has partnered with Mad Science to bring you this fun look into space.
Red Hot Robots 2
This is the same Red Hot Robots that has been so popular for the last few years; it has a NEW ROBOT for 2009. Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! Learn about robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool red-hot robots. Experiment with sound sensing robots, line-tracking robots, amphibious robots and robots that can even play soccer! Discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore around them. Use your skills to build your very own working robot to take home ! {Age limits apply}.
Radical Phenomenon
Do you get bored easily? Not in this camp. Every day is a new theme; you get Jr. Architects {build all kinds of stuff, from pasta skyscrapers to bubble structures}, Birds and Beasts {it’s all about wildlife; from dissecting Owl pellets to building a bug house}, The Science of Sport {from bouncing techniques with Astroblasters to gravity and balancing owls}, Machine Mania {how do things work? Like mega-pinchers and catapults} and Shutterbugs {Kaleidoscopes, Camera Obscuras, and catching your shadow are just a taste of this camp}. If variety is your bag, this is for you.
James Bond? MacGyver? Austin Powers?!? Do you think you have what it takes to discover “who done it?” If so, this camp is for you. You sleuth out the answers and see if you have what it takes. Send mad messages, use codes to send secret transmissions to your friends. Discover the mystery of the Mad Science Message Wheel. Experiment with cool color-changing paper. Make your own invisible ink and other spy tools out of everyday stuff. Team up with fellow campers to solve the “mysteriously mysterious mystery.” Arrive at camp to find a real crime scene surrounded by crime scene tape. Learn fingerprinting and collect evidence to solve the crime. It is an enigma, surrounded by a puzzle wrapped in a conundrum.
